How is your direct debit calculated?

At Zog we aim to be as transparent as possible with how we charge. When you join us we look at your previous energy use, add up the total year's cost and split your direct debit into 12 equal monthly payments to cover this.  We don't take any money until after your switching date, so your first direct debit might be more to cover the period from the switching date to your first direct debit.

For example, if your switching date is the 5th of the month, your first direct debit will be a third more. This covers the period from 5th to 15th (10 days) and one whole month. Direct debits are collected on the 1st or 15th of each month and cover the gas for the coming month.

What you will find is that during the summer your direct debit is higher than your energy use, and during the winter it is lower.  By spreading your payments evenly over the year, there are no nasty surprises in the winter bills.

We hold regular Direct Debit reviews throughout the year to check your monthly payments are in line with your energy consumption.  This is made more accurate by giving us regular meter readings.

If you have any questions about how we price then please contact us and we will be happy to help.
